The Eighth State Brewing Company

Eighth State was our first stop of the weekend. We loved the intimate taproom setting with tons of plants. The building was huge and was home to the brewery and a few offices. It was gorgeous and we found out it was an old bakery! Bailey and I were both able to get a flight. One thing I liked that Bailey didn’t was that they had pre-selected flights. I liked it since I can usually find a solid 2-3 at a brewery and typically ask the beertender for a suggestion. Bailey knows what she wants and likes to mix up her flights. I had the “Mid Day Crushers” flight which consisted of the Rice Crispy BOI (Rice Lager), Pipe Dreams (Hefeweizen), Tavernish (Modern English Table Beer) and the Thanks for Checking (DDH Pale Ale). Out of the four, my favorite was torn between the Tavernish and the Rice Crispy BOI. Bailey would tell you I am crazy because the Rice Crispy BOI was DELICIOUS!! It was somehow brewed with marshmallows and it was like nothing we’ve tasted before - honestly might have been Bailey’s favorite of the whole weekend. Bailey had the “Haze 4 Days” which had the Wasted Time (DDH IPA), Thanks for Checking (DDH Pale Ale), Lobster Phone (West Coast IPA) and Waltzing Back (NE IPA). I think her favorite was definitely my Rice Crispy BOI. This is one we would hit if we were back in town. - R
